New Music: Dag "Guards Down"

Plenty of songs I could’ve written about on Benefits of Solitude, the new record from Melbourne band Dag. This one though with additional vocals from Heidi Cutlack is a real highlight on the record with it’s damn addictive hooks and simple straightforward delivery. Described as a record of songs about ‘love, loss, death and the dole’, the addition of violin gives the record as a whole this Dirty Three/Two Steps on the Water kinda messy feeling that reflects and compliments the complexities of those topics all too well.

Benefits of Solitude is out now through Bedroom Suck. Grab a copy over here.
