New Music: Julia Jacklin "Hay Plain"

Hay Plain is a gorgeous, slow-moving piece that feels like sinking into the backseat as someone drives you through the canola fields of Northern Victoria. It’s a trip with no destination or purpose other than getting away from the city, but like any good road trip (and despite the six minute duration of the track), it feels all too soon to be coming home. Those snare patterns, loose guitars and Julia’s straightforward, direct lyricism are features thrown all around her debut record, Don’t Let the Kids Win, which saw the light of today just this morning.
